Single again and the holiday’s gotcha down? Here are four easy ways to hack out of that Valentine’s Day funk and feel great!
1 – Focus on Gratitude
Harnessing a feeling of gratitude is always a game-changer
2 – Change Your Story
Rumor has it that St. Valentine’s Day originated from
the Pagan celebrations, Lupercalia and Februa. These celebrations revolved around spring cleaning, health, and fertility. The Lupercalia festival was originally observed on February 15th and in 496 it was recast by Pope Gelasius as a Christian feast day labeled, St. Valentine’s Day. Gift-giving and exchanging cards wasn’t a ‘thing’ until the 18th century. It started in England and didn’t catch on in the United States until the 1850s.
3 – Release Your Expectations
Did you have expectations of receiving something from that ‘special someone’ because of someone else’s perception of this day and the evolution of events involving it? How could the day be differing for you if you were to release those expectations and see this day as simply another day and be grateful for all the good in your life?
4 – Take Action
Take this as an opportunity to get in touch with the stories you tell yourself about Valentine’s Day. How did Valentine’s Day originate? How did your perceptions and expectations around this day get formed? Who made this day into a day to give chocolates and cards?
What if, instead, you were to take this day as a symbol to clean out limiting habits and thoughts (spring cleaning); plant seeds mentally to achieve your goals and fulfill your calling (fertility); and therefore achieve good health as a result?
At the end of the day if you still want a rose? This one is for you <3
Wishing you a day full of feeling fully loved, healthful, and fertile with good thoughts and positive vibes 😉
